National Resource Centers This program provides grants to institutions of higher education or consortia of institutions of higher education to establish, strengthen, and operate comprehensive and undergraduate language and area international studies centers
Curricular Crossings: Women's Studies and Area Studies How are new, more global perspectives and the
rise of transnational movements (both feminist and non-feminist) redefining women s
studies in North America and elsewhere? What impact is the new scholarship on women
and gender having on the various area studies disciplines? How do we introduce the issues
and the scholarship successfully into the college classroom? This web-based anthology,
a project of the Five College Women s Studies Research Center, contains original short
articles and course syllabi designed for teachers of women s studies, gender studies,
and African, Latin American and Caribbean, Middle East and South Asian studies at the
college or graduate level. Contributors include Ravina Aggarwal, Amrita Basu,
Rhonda Cobham-Sander, Carmen Diana Deere, Jamal Elias, Ambreen Hai,
Betsy Hartmann, Laurie Nisonoff, Ben Oke and others.
